Bio

The paintings and murals I create are a depiction of nature’s forms in an almost too simple way, yet the use of non-conformal colors creates tension. A crow is not black. A bear is not brown. Through these bold, colorful shapes they invoke a childlike innocence. Inside that innocence lies boundary-free thinking. The way a young child sees the world is without convictions, without normative conventions and wanted social structures. These constructions can limit our thinking and take effort, time and hard practice to detach from. I aim to get the viewer of my art in touch with this detachment.

My style has been described as Cobra, for which I am flattered, yet they find it hard to put it in a distinctive box. I like to create in a naive and playfull manner, inspired by myths and symbolism. In this process I work in an altared state of mind and my creations function as a psychedelic gateway between the worlds.
